Building On Faith

Building on Faith Celebrating World Habitat Day

In honor of World Habitat Day, Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity partnered with over 24 various faith organizations (listed below) for this year’s Building On Faith event.  During the first week in October, hundreds of volunteers donated their time and money to help build affordable housing for low-to-moderate income families in the Hartford’s Asylum Hill neighborhood.  The 16 house build on South Marshall Street began in September, and will be completed by the end of 2012.

Every year for World Habitat Day, Habitat for Humanity organizations in over 40 countries around the world organize local events throughout the month of October.  Activities for the national World Habitat Day began October 3rd and will end in November with the 28th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Haiti.  For more information on World Habitat Week visit their website.
