Individual Donor Profile: Dov Dougherty
The headline read: "7th Grader raises $1,500 for Hartford Habitat"
Back in early May, Washington Montessori School gave a community service project to their students. One particular 7th grader, Dov Dougherty, had chosen to raise money and awareness for Hartford Habitat for Humanity.
The ambitious student set up a table selling cups of lemonade for a dollar and cookies for fifty cents. Over the course of a few days outside a grocery store, Dov was able to raise over $1,500! His results exceeded his goals and all the students were evaluated in a celebration by a Council of Elders from outside of the school.
The celebration took place on May 30th at Washington Montessori School in New Preston CT. We at Hartford Habitat are very impressed by Dov's initiative as he set an example for many of us. This shows that there is no small donation, only great donations.
